This sub is amazing!!! I have one of these being run by a JL 500/1 in a jeep cherokee and it sounds awesome. I have set off 9 car alarms and broke my rear window seal. This sub can be nice and tight or can make your vision blur. When i bought mine i listened to it side by side with a JL 12W7 and the type x was much louder and had tighter bass. This is the sub to get if you want the best of everything. I have an Alpine CDA-9851 head unit, pair of Alpine type s 6.5" front speakers, pair of Alpine type r 6"x9" rear speakers, infinity reference series 7541 4-channel amp running the speakers, JL 500/1 monoblock amp, and the type x mounted in a 3.0cu/ft ported box tuned for 35hz, with all JL wires and cables. My top dB reading with that has been 152.4dB. This sub is amazing. I wouldn't have spent my money anywhere else.
