Apple iMac reviews

I was a pretty die hard windows user until a friend let me use his. I was very impressed with the unit and they are compatible with just about everything these days.
The learning curve is not bad at all if your use to windows and worried about that. If you are a family person and take a lot of pictures don't waste your time on a windows machine you will love the features the imac offers.

This thing is just, well.. perfect. No other word to describe my feeling. My desk looks so clean now with this imac.

Never read the userguide took it out the box everything up and running. Software update and everything took less than 30 min before is all ready to go like my old macbook.

Again if you are looking for a desktop, this is the Perfect machine.

I have gone through 5 PCs in the last 7 years. The last 3, I built myself. The last one I built was geared towards gaming and video editing. All was well until I got another virus! This was the last straw and converted to the "dark side" and got me this new iMac.

Now, I'm the type of person that is really careful on how I spend my money, especially with big ticket items. I went to the Apple store just to look, and I came out of there in less than an hour with this new iMac. All I wanted was a computer to surf the net with and I came out with this dream machine.

The design is beautiful and compact. The screen is vivid andbeautiful to look at. I have been watching more movies on this than my 56" Panasonic in the living room. And with iLife '08, i fell in love with video editing again. I made my first home movie of the birth of my daughter with music, video and still pictures in 20 minutes. I made a similar movie with Pinnacle and that took me days to complete. Everything on this iMac is really user friendly once you get used to no right clicks. I'm glad I converted!
Yeah gaming is pretty much zilch for Macs, but that's what the Xbox 360 is for.

My only regret is that I should have gotten the model above this one with 2.4Ghz with the 256mb video card. I wasn't planning on doing this much video editing. Oh well, I guess I have to save my money for a MacBook Pro (anybody wanna buy a PC?)!

After many years and numerous Windows PC issues (lost data, reinstallation of windows and viruses) with both my recent laptop and desktop, I decided to take the leap with a MAC. WOW I've never had a more pleasurful computing experience and can honestly say that the switch was easier and smoother than I had initially thought. I had this machine running within 15 minutes and and most of my windows files and docs accessed in no time via my external hard-drive. This is our main home computer and the OSX Leopard is very intuitive so all users (including some novice users) had no difficulty operating the machine.
Really enjoy using Time Machine ( that alone is worth the switch ) as well as Spaces and Viewer. The only upgrade was to add 2 GIG of memory for heavier applications (simple task). I easily partitioned my external my hard drive to back-up my data and created multiple language boots for the other users and that was a snap. This computer is fast, easy to set-up, all inclusive, takes little desk space and looks stunning. At christmas we bought our daughter a Macbook that she will be using for college and syncing her data from one to the other was a breeze. For any on the fence future Mac users, all I can say is go for it, you will not regrett it. The only reason it did not get a 10 is because 10 is perfection but I would give this machine 9.9 if that was possible. I tip my hat to Apple I will stick with MAC for a longtime to come.

I have had my computer for 3 months and I just love it. Everything is designed to be user friendly. I love the feel of the keyboard. It is like you are typing on a laptop. Super fast computer. Highly recommended.

I've been a Mac owner my whole life but not an Apple junkie or media editor like some others. I just loved the fact that I've NEVER installed anti-virus software or even worried about a virus, Y2K bug, ANYTHING!!! Peace of mind is worth a lot.
My previous computer was a Powerbook G4 that I owned for 6.5 years virus and crash-free. However, the memory and graphics card was starting to struggle with the increased demands so I decided to finally buy an iMac.
I reasonably expected to spend the whole day transferring files(photos, music, passwords, profiles, etc) from my Powerbook to the iMac. To my delight, when I powered up the iMac it asked if I wanted anything transferred automatically. I hooked up the firewire cable, selected what I wanted(everything), and 15 minutes later the computer was up and running. All my settings, hot keys, preferences, music, files, EVERYTHING was exactly how I had it on my Powerbook. Seamless transfer and I was done. Unbelievable.
I'd never ripped home videos onto a computer before but I opened iMovie and it was the easiest thing I've done. When I plugged in the camcorder, a screen popped up that said "import". It rewound my mini-DV and recorded the whole tape. All I did was plug in the camcorder.
There was one problem though, my iPhoto app was so old(v2.0 vs v7.0) from the previous computer that the new version didn't like how the files were created with v2.0. That was quickly taken care of but it's been the only snag, thus why I didn't give it a 10.

Just purchased the 20" Imac and I have to say that I am really impressed with it. I was worried that it might not be as fast as I would like it to be, but its very quick! It is really easy to use and it can even play some decent games. Great all-in-one! So much better than a PC.

This is by far the best computer I've ever owned, and the most pleasurable to use as well. It's nearly perfect- it's given me no problems and no headaches. I'm a little computer dumb, so it's nice not having to fight (and lose) with a machine for once. Also, the student discount Apple offers was really nice- at the time I bought it it came with a free iPod Nano and a great discount on Adobe software. So far I've used it for everyday stuff from typing to browsing, as well as music composition, art making, and casual gaming. I guess this is pretty light work, but it performs well in any case. Overall, superb machine!

Bought it, brought it home, plugged in two cords and was ready to go&Then I downloaded bootcamp, installed Vista, loaded the drivers for my MS Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 7000 and Mouse and ran a line to my TV Yes, I bought this system to run Vistas version of MCE Plus web surfing and email Music and Ripping my DVDs to the HDD All things I could have done with a cheaper system The thing that cannot go unnoticed is that this computer is a work of art It just feels better sitting in front of something that was thought out The screen is excellent, sharp and bright. The DVD drive is a little slow (just like the one in my Toshiba notebook) and the VGA out only mirrors the main screen But it looks really nice connected to my 32 Vizio TV. I have had buyers remorse with nearly every system I have purchased&I dont this time. I only used OS X long enough to download bootcamp and install Vista, dont really plan to try it out Why should I? Im a Windows guy, Vista looks great and it runs on this machine like a champ. I doubt anyone would regret owning one of these things - Really a 9.5 out of 10.

I purchased the Imac on October 27th. It took only a few hours to update to Leopard. 250 gig hard drive to more than enough space for years.
