Excellent sound control from this unit. I have had a few other after market source units over the last ten years such as Clarion, Eclipse, Alpine, Pioneer. I chose to go with Clarion again because it was very dependable in the past unlike what I experienced with eclipse and it looked better than the alpines not to mention it's functionality is right up my ally. The one alpine I really liked did not play cd's, I'm not ready to give them up just yet even though they will go the way of the 8track. The USB is very nice although the pig tail is coiled in my glove box I can mount it in several different locations when I get around to it. I haven't have any issues with skipping CD's or poor sound quality. I have been using it for a little over a month and it seems pretty solid. This has a nice internal sub control and before I hooked up my 4 channel Crossfire amp for my JBLGTO components and my mono Alpine to feed my Rockford 10 inch it powered my factory speakers much better than the Mach460 did. This has Ipod controls too but I don't want or need one of those so i can't tell you if it is any good. I picked up the DXZ775USB off Ebay for just under $200, I know it is much more expensive elsewhere but it is worth it in my opinion.
I fully plan on getting the DXZ575USB for my winter driver as well. I like the front loading for that, it's a neat novelty to have a USB flash as it accesses you music. yes I am a geek.
