The pros are plentiful. It has great sound editing features and the MIDI sounds are exceptional. There are a lot of neat gizmos such as a 3D midi player, pitch changer and a good recorder and fair wave editor. The cons are also plentiful. If you have a problem Creative's support is dismal at best. It is only by email and they didn't even read about my problem. They just tried to sell me some creative speakers. I'm stuck with a unit that will not accept inputs on the external box and has a S/N ratio that is around 70 db. This is probably my fault, but with the dismal support I'll probably never know. If you need support when installing a product, don't buy this one.

A must have for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts. Less expensive than a high end audio-visual receiver without sacrificing sound quality.

This is a great soundcard, except for the fact that it is highly sensitive to system changes and also suffers from a lack of shielding which can cause interferance from other PCI cards.
For instance, the soundcard worked without a hitch on my old harddrive, but when that drive failed and I had to upgrade to a newer one, that was when the problems started. I had to install the soundcard atleast 3 times before it would work. Finally I opted for just letting the program decide where it wanted to go with full features.
It finally worked, but had issues with popping and clicking. My workaround was when I turned off my wireless connection, then the popping and clicking stopped.
Hopefully these problems will be remedied in future versions of this soundcard.
