Got this board as part of a motherboard/cpu combo special. My first inclination was to get a different board - a full sized ATX instead of a micro. BUT, the deal I got was just too good to pass up. After looking over the features list, the more I got into it.
This board is a socket 939 motherboard that has a TON of features, supports up to 4 GB PC3200 RAM, has Nvidia GeForce 6100 for it's onboard video. This board supports Athlon 64, Athlon FX and Athlon 64 x2 processors - it's dual core ready.
The motherboard has MOST everything you could possibly ever hope to need - with one exception. For some strange reason, Gigabyte opted to leave off any standard serial ports. On the other hand, the board does make up for that oversight by sporting PLENTY of USB ports, 4 in the rear and two headers for 4 more up front.
A nice bonus - the board sports an onboard Firewire port AND a header for mounting a front Firewire port. Hardware for the front FW port, however, is not included.
As far as storage connections, there's plenty. The board supports two standard EIDE ATA/100/133 connections for 4 drives, plus has 4 SATA connectors and one FDD connector for a total of 9 internal drives.
The SATA connections are the big shining bonus here - they're SATA 300 (or SATA 2) giving you roughly double the throughput. The SATA channels can also be configured for RAID 0, 0+1, 1, and 5.
The onboard audio is fairly impressive as well - giving you options to connect 2, 4, 6 or 8 speakers in high def audio. The utility that comes with the motherboard allows you to manage your speakers, microphones and other audio inputs (Line In) and comes with an equalizer.
The iDNA features of this motherboard are nice as well. On the performance front, this board has overclocking features built in. There's a utility included that allows you to adjust various performance parameters without needing a reboot.
In the security department, the board has a built in firewall. Nvidia's ActiveArmor helps protect your PC by filtering out unwanted traffic.
