HP w2207h 22" Monitor reviews

Simply put, this is the worst consumer electronics experience I have had. I will not buy HP again. This was sold to me as a top-of-class monitor and I now get to go buy a new monitor due to the poor quality of this one. Since HP does not stand behind their product, neither will I.

I got this from HP as a refurb about 2 years ago, and paired it with a Mac Mini. I love the look, which comes close to the iMac aesthetic (glossy black bezel, aluminum stand, cabling out of sight), and based on my experience I can strongly recommend it to anyone with a Mini.
One caveat, if you have a shallow desk, is that the stand is a bit on the deep side: the front of the screen will be at least ten inches from the back wall. Make sure that leaves room for your keyboard.

Not sure what one of the user rants below was going on about, but this is really an exceptional monitor for the price. Works amazingly as my external monitor for my Sony SZ laptop...

Two downsides:
- would it have killed them to ratchet this up to 1900x1600?
- vista drivers do not seem to support portrait mode...which I'm ok with, I would never use it in portrait anyway

For $325 at BestBuy, you can't beat this thing.

BTW - anyone having issues with dual or triple monitors on Vista, check out the UltraMon utility. Works like a champ.

Overall the montior is perfect for ny usage. The 90 degree turn is great for working long databases andother functions where you need the depth. With a dual monitor setup you have the best of both portrait and landscape uses.

It's like this product was designed to demonstrate how the internet should be viewed. I have it connected to a MacBook Pro and in portrait you seen full length web pages. Ipad? Lmfao what for? I recommend any person who uses the internet frequently to do yourself a favor and please get one of these.

I have been using this for a year and even with a 3 yr ext warranty I paid under $300 so it was a good deal. I often just sit on the couch using wireless mouse and keyboard and my 52" so I haven't used the monitor every day.

This picture quality and brightness of this display are awesome. I have a bright light behind me and reflection has not been a problem when the monitor is on.

The ability to rotate the screen is awesome to view documents and web pages.

Negatives:
The base (which may be necessary to handle the size and rotation) seems too large. In other words, the depth is increased. I wish it was more compact. Also, I like the screen rotation, but I have my display on a PC desk with a hutch overhead, and I am not able to rotate it while in its position in the hutch. Not a major sacrifice, but a negative nonetheless. Overall, I highly recommend and do not regret the purchase. Blu-Rays and HD DVD look great on it.
