I'll admit I first purchased this unit because of its awesome display animations. When I first began to listen to my music, however, I was disappointed by the lack of base and volume the unit produced. Luckily I did some investigating and found that it was merely a case of overly tame EQ presets. Once I began playing around with the 4-band parametric EQ, not to mention the millions of other sound-shaping features, I was able to get an amazing base responce and more importantly sonic accuracy. I love it! Hint for those of you having trouble figuring out the base bands of the EQ: Set the Q-factors of the 2 lower bands to .25 at a center frequency of about 100 Hz for the lowest band and about 250 Hz for the next band up.
