LG Sentio - blue reviews

First of all, the author of the C-Net lead article is mistaken, this is not the first LG phone for T-Mobile. I had the first one about six years ago and it was a flimsy flip phone with good graphics and a sleek design for that era. I sat on it one day and broke the screen even though the phone was closed. I weighed about 190 lbs.

This LG model is much better than the old one. I really like it a lot. I have seen the costlier ones and I don't think they are so much better than this phone. My only concern is how durable will it be over time. I had that one other LG, the first model of LG that had no model name. It was just called LG. And that was a piece of garbage. If this one makes it a few years without any problems like the couple of Motorolas have had then I will be very happy with my purchase.

I feel this phone is user friendly and is fluid in how it works. It will make life simpler for me.

overall great phone I liked the look and feel and the touch screen was very nice but just got to frustrated with the scrolling past where I wanted to be kinda like being on ice

It's a great phone if you want something a step up from an ordinary bar or flip phone but don't want to pay top dollar for the phone and then pay dearly each month for an expensive data plan. It's very portable due to it's small size - and easy to hold or clip on your belt. Texting is easy and all the features seem to work very well including GPS, Camera and Bluetooth. It's nice that it doesn't have to be charged every night like many smartphones. I have no regrets - perfect for me!

All the features and functions are well thought out and are actually useful. It feels great in your hand. It's right in that Goldilocks zone. When you power on, it's one of the only phones I've had that is up and ready to fully use in under 30 seconds. Call quality is great. Bluetooth connectivity is unbelievably simple. The tiny speaker puts out great sound for your music. OH!!!! Even though I just use Web2Go, T-Mobiles watered down version of the web, the phone comes with a You Tube app. So, when I first started using that app, the picture quality stunk! I was so disappointed, BUT THEN..... I noticed a little link button under the first YouTube video that showed HQ/NORMAL and when I clicked on that HQ viewing mode.... BAM!!! Crystal clear video that even has my wife, who owns a Motorola Cliq that runs Android, saying,"WOW!" and my son is jealous too.

Don't let me forget to tell you about the battery. I am getting about two and half days worth of usability from the battery. The proper way to charge and use your cell phone's battery when you first use it, is to turn your phone on and use the battery until it completely dies, not when the phone says the battery is low. Then charge it, which takes only 2-3 hours, then use it till it dies again, from that point on you have set the micro chip in the battery to knowing the optimal charging time. Another thing about the phone I love/hate is when you get to the point where you get the low battery warning, the screen then dims to a point where it's hard to see and you cannot run any apps at all, but that does give you anywhere from 3 hours standby time or 1 hour of talk time. So it's a love/hate thing for me.

Bottom line is........I FRICKIN' LOVE THIS PHONE!!!! I have a curse with phones. They hate me. I don't know why, but it just is. I've had Crackberrys, Pearls ect. ect. and they all hated me, but this phone likes me, I mean it really does like me and I love it.

I hope this review helps. As for me, I need some alone time with my phone. =)

I would recommend this to anyone looking for something low-budget. Surprisingly, I only paid $180 for it whereas I might have been paying upwards of $250 for something that's a complete touch-screen. Definitely worth the money and is very sturdy thus far. Not disappointed in the least.

Perfect touch phone if you don't want a data plan.

Phone calls work only if you do not do not want to do anything during the call (e. g. adjust volume, add a contact), otherwise parts of the call are wiped out.

The touch screen often goes in the select mode instead of scrolling.

As I would normally use the calendar for appointments. The 90 degree turn does not bring up the on-screen keyboard on this phone, and I doubt that anyone wants to type with the old-fashioned 10 phone keys any more.

Forget about using a good pair of earplugs, the jack is unique to a certain set of LG phones.

The only reason I bought this phone is that T-Mobile recently mandated the purchase of a $30/mo Internet plan for its smart phones, and I refuse to spend $360/yr on something that I hardly ever use (not safe for banking and hardly anything is visible on a cell phone screen).

The GPS positioning feature is cool but it is probably an expensive toy for most. It is basic, and the screen is tiny.

Too many problems and not worth the money.
