LG VX5500 price and reviews

LONG battery life! i can go for days without charging, small enough to fit in my pockets, but not so small i forget its there. nice sound quality too. i've dropped this phone LOTS of times!!!! very durable!!!!! just this week i accidentally droped it in the water at the beach, and quickly dried it off, and viola...its perfectly fine! :]

I have the phone only one week, and am trying to get use to it, but would rather be thrilled with it. Am heading back to Verizon to check out the LG VX8350.

This is an excellent phone for a student that is just starting out or someone who is new to the world of cell phones.

Not all cell phone users need a smartphone that offers touch screens, music, and keyboards for texting. If you want a good quality basic camera phone--this is the phone for you.

I previously owned an LG phone and was very happy with it. After 4+ years I finally broke my old phone. I went to the Verizon/Alltel store to replace this phone with one that is as similar as possible. I have been back several times because this phone dies after about 12 hours, even on days when I don't use it. After reading several revues from other customers who have been dissatisfied with 24 to 36 hour battery life, it is clear to me that this phone is defective. I'm going to go back and insist that they replace it.

If your objective is to make calls and have all the bells and whistles associated with a modern phone device such as memory of missed calls, memory of received calls, caller ID, and remembering contacts, then this is the phone for you. Plus, it can take a picture in a surprise moment. Reception is as good or better than any cell phone I have owned. Operational functions work as they should. No problems with battery or cell phone functions to date. There are additional options such as navigator etcetera. If you want to listen to music, then use an iPod. If you want to take a high quality picture then use a digital camera. None of the cell phones out there can match the ability of a basic iPod for MP3 music or a decent digital camera for photos.

I wanted to find a phone that I could use simply as a phone - I have an iPod, I have a GPS unit, I have several cameras. I wanted a phone that would allow me to be able to call and be called. I also wanted a phone that my 84 year old Dad could use and understand. The VX 5500 seems to fit the bill. The sound quality is better than my previous two phones. IF the 5500 could have a slightly textured finish it would improve my grip, and if they could do something about they would reduce the size of the high-gloss area on the outside the fingerprint issue would evaporate. Realistically, I don't care about the fingerprints, but they are quite noticeable. For anyone looking for a basic, easy to use, great sounding phone, I recommend the VX5500.

I liked most of the features of this phone accept the bluetooth voice commands are not as easy to use as my previous phone. And I am concerned that there are battery quality issues which Verizon is trying to ignore. If the battery holds up, then I will rate this phone for my usage (occassional) excellent. I can carry it in a pocket easily instead of needing a belt holder.

Don't take this out of the box & use it! Most peoples complaints, they use it as is, customize it, change the buttons to suit you. Ringtones aren't suitable or not loud enough? Make your own phonezoo. Biggest complaint about this phone, battery life. Mine lasted 24 hrs., now it lasts 4 or 5 DAYS. A simple cure, Go to the VERIZON store & have them download new SOFTWARE to your phone, if they argue, go to a different person or store, if they would check, they would see this phone has software issues, have them fix it. They treated me excellent. Most of the problems I've seen can be taken care of by going to the store & TALK. (Except the people who expect this to be a minicomputer for a dime - get real ) I'm sure if your new car sputtered you wouldn't drive it & cuss, you would take to the dealer, think! Wouldn't part with it. ps; Want a neat wallpaper? Take a photo of a blank BLACK object, put on your photo editor & put any text on it, I have my name in script. 1 of a kind.
