Review of Donald Bell is the most complete and accurate so far. (I like it existed before I bought two weeks ago Livescribe echo cost.) I support its advantages and disadvantages. Do not underestimate the factor causing the pleasure of the device. When you click on a word or image (for example, frowny face), the sound is back on everything that was written at the time it was written (eg strings Statistics boring).
As a teacher, I regularly do recording in-class design with a document camera. I intend to my "pencasts" for students who miss a lecture or discussion, or make multiple-entry modes need for a complete learning, especially my English learners.
PROS: Installation was a little frustrating, but I attribute Livescribe response rates, at the date of the registration periods. Overall, the program is easy to use, including synchronization, storage and sharing features on the site. There are many useful (albeit dry) demo video features and applications.
CONS: I agree that the cover is easy to lose grip (there is some reason to send her two!). and that included charger connected to a computer, but it is easy to fix. In addition, I chose your own headset / microphone combo for true stereo recording spring. This is to minimize the scratching with pen on paper, too.
Special notes on a little expensive, but are not deal breaker. Users can even, but only through the window at this time. As a treasure of beautiful notebooks, I see them gather dust, as I shift to the use of echo almost everything.
Review is not for applications, however, that have potential, especially for a student audience. I enjoyed the piano and the executioner, as well as demos Language interpreter. I can imagine some given time to mature killer applications. In addition, a logical continuation of a function that translate handwriting to type. Now it is not available through third-party software called MyScript that I have not tried. (I had problems installing the demo, the Bode not good.) Finally, I ask a simple way to transfer my notes to Livescribe Echo prices and pencasts in Evernote. I'm sure it will happen sooner rather than later.
Overall: I love this product and would recommend it to my students. Users should remember the circumstances are appropriate to ask the permission to record audio. Secret recording is possible because the pin is very subtle, but still can not buy Livescribe Echo for the best price only T always legal;)
