Motorola Adventure V750 reviews

so i totally recommend this phone! unlike a couple of people on here, i think the sound quality sounds great and i think this is probably the best phone verizon has supplied me with EVER. granted, its only been a week, but i think it only takes about a week to figure out if your phone is a piece or not. A GREAT PURCHASE!!!

I bought this phone with a bit of trepidation after reading the reviews. I was looking for a phone that was simiiar to what I used with AT&T (a Razr v3), and this seemed to fit the bill. I needed a basic phone and hoped it would have a good camera, but could live without it. I didn't need the PTT or the vCast, but was impressed by the look of the phone, had good luck with prior Moto phones, and get a great price with corporate discount. Unfortunately, the phone is being returned. The sound quality when I used the speakerphone to talk is lacking. The people i call can never hear me and that is a function I use ALL the time. Also, the buttons on the face of the cover and touchy and always launches me into music which I don't use.

If you want a full featured phone and don't care about the speaker, this phone will probably work for you. However, it is not for someone who wants a basic model and a good speakerphone.

Really this review was to shut the "BACK BATTERY COVER SUCKS" people up. This phone doesn't quite live up to the hipe, but it surely isn't as bad as some of the reviews I have read here. Just snap the back shut all the way and it is great.

Durable phone. Used to have the Motorola 325i. That is the most durable phone ever. I put that phone through more duress than any phone should ever have had to endure (I have a somewhat stressful profession and the phone was sent into a wall or the floor more than a few times). Always came out without a scratch (well maybe a few gashes) and always worked perfectly. I don't know that the Adventure will be able to handle such misuse. Time will tell. Overall, I like the phone, but it's not quite the gearhead elitest phone is claims to be.

If you just using this a just a phone then its fine....however they advertise it as a music/web/camera phone.

This turns out to be poor offering in my opinion - I had a KRZR and a RZR and those phones were much better in my opinion even though they are 3-4 yrs older. I returned the V750 after 2 weeks of use.

1st thing I noticed is that the phone is kind of heavy
2nd thing is the charger is different - I had an old RZR phone and my wife had a blackberry and all the chargers were interchangeable
The phone may look rugged in the picture but when you see it in person its not

The main reason I returned it was that that headphones wouldn't work with it - I took it to the VZ store and they said it would work if I turned off the Bluetooth, but that only worked intermittently?

I hate to Flame something like this but Motorola should be able to do better

Overall I feel this is an great phone. Both the PTT and phone calls are clear. The PTT is a great feature. I have a Nextel phone for my job and could compare the PTT to the Direct Connect.
I have had no dropped calls. The key pad and screens are easy to read, especiall when I am mobile. The bottom line I feel this phone performs well.

I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone unless they were in need of the PTT service. Although you can communicate over the phone, the sound was somewhat muffled on both ends. I have a BB on the VZW network and it comes in crystal clear in the same spot. The phone also feels cheap. All plastic. Sort of suprised that this can pass military grade. A good drop may chip a piece off...so much for that 'dust' protection if so. Was really hoping this phone would do it for me. Oh well.

I've had PTT for about 4 years and this new generation is much better. The PTT alert tone is not great, but adequate. Connect times are significantly faster. I've seen several reviews about how their PTT network isn't as good as their standard network but it's been rare that I've not been able to use PTT. The coverage is still way better than Nextel (I used Nextel for 6 years at work and it was consistently horrible).

I don't care much about the multimedia features. After getting a 4GB miniSD card I can hold all my music. I don't do video and pic stuff so it doesn't matter how good or bad it is.

One thing I *do* like is that with the Motorola software updater and an application named P2KCommander, I can put my own MP3s in as ringtones, put on my own wallpapers, etc without incurring data charges. I have complete access to the phone's file system! Why is this good? In a stock phone, you can't just assign your music as ringtones (kinda sucky). Yes, using the software is a hack but it works fine. YMMV. As for problems w/ USB drivers... I've had none. I got a mini USB cable from Buy.Com and just grabbed the drivers from the web and it worked fine on my XP Home SP3 PC. BTW, I did my own phone software update using that Motorola Updater application. It actually fixed a little bug w/ the voice readout!

The bluetooth headset that VZW sells w/ it is decent too. Not something I'd want to wear for hours on end but it isn't bad and it's easy to use.

Overall I'm happy w/ the phone.

Before getting the Moto Adventure V750, I had the GzOne type V. This phone is everything the Gz was except for two things. It wont go under water and the volume could be a little bit louder. The thing I like about this phone is that it is rugged and it doesn't feel like a heavy brick in your pocket like the Gz did.

As far as the battery cover being flemzy....it is a little, but you have to make sure you snap it in all the way. I've seen people complain about that but I've had no trouble with the battery cover. The cover is a rubbery plastic that is anti-skid. It doesn't slide off the console of my truck when I hit the brakes like my Gz did.

The speaker phone is really nice and clear as well.
I havn't got a blue tooth yet so I can't comment on that aspect.

I love the graphics and the layout of navigation. It's a new look from my other phones from Verizon. If you don't like the navigation layout, you can choose from a few others and change them over. I also like the video timing that you can set. On my Gz, I was only allowed 15 seconds of recording time. The Adventure has different time length settings.

There is no flash for the camera. But in the past when ever I took a pic with a camera phone in a situation where I needed a flash, the picture still came out grainy and blurred anyway. Night time pics and cell phones don't mix in my opinion.

For about 2 weeks, I read reviews and went to different phone stores to look at all my choices before getting a new phone. I came down to 2 choices and now I'm glad I chose the Moto Adventure. I've had this phone for over a week and I love it.

IF I COULD TELL EVERYONE "ONE" THING, IT WOULD BE THIS.
Before you decide on which phone you want to get. Do your homework. Read up on all the different phones and listen to what ALL the people say about each phone. What I like about my phone you may not want on yours. If I had to choose all over again, I would pick the Moto Adventure again, I love it.

I hope this review helps.

actually a decent phone. but has anyone figured out the headset jack problem trying to listen to music through headphones? it doesn't work. it is the weirdest thing. we have gone through 2 phones now, and both are the same - music comes through the speakers only, no matter how many differnt versions of headset 2.5mm adapters or headphones we try. help? VERY frustrating.

I liked the look of the phone, it is sold as if it is rugged, but if the phone is dropped the battery will knock off the cover. The cover is thin and difficult to put onto the phone.(will probably break soon) The call quality is very clear, but reception is inferior and voice delay can make fast conversations difficult.
That same cover blocks the memory, which would not be bad except that you will probably want to take it out to transfer files. The software needed to pull pictures from the phone costs an extra 35 dollars(and the version I was given didn't even support the phone yet). The camera isn't terrible by cellphone standards, but there isn't much point in taking full resolution pictures as the photo sensor's resolution is not as high as the image writer. (blurry at high resolution or zoom)

I have had it three weeks and want to take it back.
