This is my wife's phone, so I am slightly less familiar with it than if it were my own. So far, though, it looks like the sync consists of exporting Outlook contacts in CSV format, uploading to Motorola, which then syncs with the phone. BUT, once you update or add contacts on the phone, HOW do you get them back to Outlook? This is so much WORSE than my 4 year-old Sony Ericsson phone which came with a real application to install on the PC and two-way sync with Outlook's contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes. THIS is progress? Android needs to get its head out of the "cloud". Not *everyone* wants all their contacts in somebody else's database, whether Motorola, Google, etc.
Of course, Windows Phone 7 also won't sync with Outlook (unless you're on a corporate Exchange server), so apparently *every* phone maker wants to CONTROL my information. I'm NOT happy about this new "feature".
Only got this phone 3 days ago, so I hope to update this review over time.
