Having received a beta unit from NETGEAR for free, I have to say this device solved an issue of security for my home. Where wireless has limits and exposure to nearby residents, I found a wired ethernet connection was the route for me. In doing so, this device made my re-wiring of my 1826 originally constructed home, instant and easy. Several renovations including power were done prior to moving in. With modern solid copper electric, I had no problem extending ethernet from my office to bedrooms. Setup is easy if you only need one unit. If you want more, the setup software is a necessary evil (although not very intuitive). Still regardless speed, I havent seen where the speed is slower than my incoming internet to be of a concern. A definite problem solver for me! Great buy for those who do. I put a few more into service at a few of my friends houses for the same reasons.
