I live in an older house that is almost impossible to run cables without having them be extremely visible. I rely heavily on wireless, but with my modem and router in the office upstairs, all my devices in my living room and bedroom(downstairs) only ran on a 75% or less signal. I've tried boosters and repositioning my router, but with little improvement.
I've had this kit for seven months and I haven't had to do anything since installation, which was a breeze. I simply plugged one of the units into the nearest power outlet by my router and connected it using the provided Ethernet cable. I attached the other end to the AC unit behind my cabinet containing my desktop hooked up to my 47" LCD. Now, the desktop gets wired and wireless signals. I used to have issues with online video buffering, but have not experienced that since installation.
This works so well, that I recently bought another to connect to my Xbox and Series3 TiVo in the bedroom.
I'm unsure about the power usage, but I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to easily network older technology that heavily relies on data transfer.
