I am a father and want to capture and share all the precious moments that happens when you least expect them! This phone is the answer to all my prayers! Was some days with fiddling around the UI (been a IPhone user for two years), but now it feels great. Tip! Get PixelPipe from the Ovi Store on your N8! I am fan of watching Full Screen Videos/Movies on my Nokia N95 8Gb.
Nokia N8 screen is so dark that some Video details are totally BLACK !
Called Nokia Product Ltd. (Canada) but the person I spoke to told me nothing can be done for getting better Brightness adjusment.
I look at another Nokia N8 at ROGERS to compare to find exact same result. So this is NOT a one Lemon issue.
I don't understand why people are not complaining about this phone so POORE Video performances...

I really like the way the phone feels in my hand to start with. It has the killer feature of connecting the phone to my 42" HD TV and playing video recording using an HDMI cable. Symbian has lots of apps not just from the Ovi store but from all over the internet. Generally the phone is great and buying it unlocked can be a bite on the pocket you do get a 2 year warranty from Nokia.

The MAIN strength of this phone is it's camera. It has a 12mp camera with carl zeiss lens and xenon flash for low light and is capable of HD recording. You can find pictures others have taken here

...There has been tons of positive reviews so I'll just include my two cents which was helpful for me :D

GPS....I have no mobile internet plan and mostly rely on the N8's GPS. To do so press the menu key, settings, Application Settings, positioning, positioning methods, and turn off Assisted GPS. You do need the internet for maps and downloading the navagation voice.

30FPS video recording and uncompressed images mod - This mod can be easily uninstalled and takes more effort in installing. The mod is a sis file and the sis file needs to be signed in order to install. Things you will need when installing is a cert, key, and an application tool that'll sign the mod.

...Anyway I'm really glad I've purchased this device. So far I haven't had any major difficulties and would recommend this to anyone wanting a great camera phone.

I really like this product, it has every feature I could imagine useful. In Ovi store there are some good applications, and older symbian applications from the web often seem to run on N8 too... I like the start screen, useful and easy to modificate. This is a mobile computer and if you have thought about buying new phone this is one of the best options. Superb!!

if you want a phone that's a great camera which crashes when you start to think you have a smart phone the speaker is on the camera side (backso when you are watching a video you have to cup your hand around the back to redirect the sound but it comes with great headphones

I Brought Nokia N8 before 2 days.... It worked very fine on the First Day with its Responsive Touch Screen, Camera, Sound Quality, etc which was better than Nokia N97.
But Second day was very Disappointing for me as a Nokia lover because the phone started to Restart Again n Again. And Finally the phone was dead completely.
Soon I went to Nokia Care to solve this problem and they tried to update the phone but the result was same and said me to send this phone to Nokia head office causing return back after 1 month....... I dont know what to do.....Now I hate Nokia.....

I've bought this phone about 2 weeks ago. It is so solid in my hand and there's no other phones as good as this phone like holding. No drop calls whatever position, not even a single drop call. No jacket is needed for d gorilla glass and aluminium body. It can handle upto 41 apps,I've tested it no lags,but I only put like 4 heavy apps. It's a good sign dat UI works pretty well with the processor. Another outstanding features of N8 are wifi hotspot(via apps). FM transmitter and file exchange with USB on the go(Note:U can use mouse or keyboard with this too.
Web browsing is superb. Flash works well on it. Ovi maps v3.06 beta is super kool with the offer of smooth pinch-in-zoom, night mode, 3D view, landmarks and many +apps features :). Battery is outstanding, I browse webs, listen to music a lot and talk a lot, at the end of the day, d battery still shows 100% ***!!
