Olympus Stylus 750 reviews

This is why men shop at the last minute, because we can return things people do not like. Don't buy things months ahead of time! Now I'm stuck with a crappy gift that does not suit me and what photos I take at various auto racing events. For the price I see that this camera cost, Cannon has a better camera for the same amount. If you just want an old fashion type easy point and shoot camera like the old 110 film cameras, this is the one for you since there are not many adjustments. Well this one in it's box will be an expensive book end!

I just got this camera last weeek and it is fantastic. It has many scene modes to choose from has image stablization so you don't get blurry pictures in low light. The camera is small and compact. I really liked the idea of editing my pictures in the camera before I downloaded them to my computer. You can actually go into the the edit picture menu in the review mode and fix the red eye, saturation, make the picture darker or lighter or make the picture a different size. I thought that was really cool. The battery life is really good and it takes decent pictures in low light. I think Olympus really got it right with this camera.

Got this camera 3 days after it was launched. Packed with features very small factor, crisp pictures, allows to play around with setting. The on screen guide is awesome specially for novice use. Cheers!!! OLYMPUS ROCKS!!

I love taking pictures and this was the worse camera I have ever owned. I got it for Christmas and was lucky to get 1 or 2 quality photos out of 30. I read both the printed & online manual, asked others to take random photos and tried all settings. The pictures were out of focus. The quality I expected just wasn't evident with this camera. Very disappointing!

I bought it for the "all weather" feature, the small size and the 5x zoom. I wanted a fun camera I could take anywhere and not worry about messing up. But it's such a dog I rarely do.

I have other cameras for when I want to get serious photos. It's fine for indoors and in the shade, but seriously, who wants a camera you can't use on a sunny day?

Image quality is not good. Honestly, I think my first gen digitals with 2 and 3 megapixels (Fuji a205 and Canon a70) take better photos.

It has features I'll never use, like the ability to record a memo after each shot. It's the basics that are a failure in this camera.

Some advice:

1. Avoid any camera that uses only XD cards. It's all but dead now. The cards are hard to find, overpriced and SLOW. Most newer Olympus cameras now offer Micro SD and Micro SCHC with an adapter as an alternative, while Fuji has gone to SDHC.

2. If your camera lacks an optical viewfinder, make sure you get a better LCD than this one. Again, some of the newer Olympus cameras have supposedly better LCDs. Avoid the cheaper Olympus models (or from anyone else) with this technology. I was stunned the first time I took this out in bright sunlight and the LCD was like a mirror. I can't believe that any reputable company would sell a camera with such crappy core technology. Olympus probably lost me as a customer permanently with this one.

Sorry, all the good features are negated when you go in the sunshine to take pictures and you can not see the image on the LCD. I bought it at Christmas and Yesterday I bought a different camera and it is useable in the sunlight.

I just got this in a very sleek and stylish black. Amazing options, features and dual IS. It even records sound with the MPEG. I do miss a viewfinder for those direct sunlight shots because unless you really like to backlight your subject most times the sun is going to be right on the monitor screen (You would think by now they would have come up with a super reflective coating under the monitor lighting source so that ambient light would actually be helpful), and the battery is cute which means you need a spare one.
