I wore this little scanner out, but it paid for itself ten times over. I scanned in THOUSANDS of slides and negatives, and the quality was great. I adjusted my settings, and then just had to move a picture over and press a button and the machine did the rest. It was much easier than lifting a flatbed every time I wanted to scan a negative. I would usually scan pictures as I worked on other projects. I actually wore mine out, and am in need of another one. I still had to adjust the lighting and also crop my photos in Photoshop, but there is no glass between the scanner and the slide, so the pictures are more crisp. The only con I have is that it is VERY slow when you use the digital ice. I rationalize that by thinking how much time I save not having to clean up all the dust and scratches in Photoshop. I bought mine on sale for under $200, so I felt it was a good bargain for such a useful machine.
