The product includes a fantastic diagnostic tool that lets you check how strong the network connection is. So you can make sure that you have a really good connection over the powerlines. I have missed this capability in other adapters I have tried. The other adapters don't provide a way to show you how well they are working.

The Plaster Network adapters are plug in play, and dramatically improve the speed and reliability of the connection to your home network router compared to WiFi. My former Wifi connection between the iMac in our master bedroom and the Apple Extreme Base Station in our home office was slow and unreliable. Upon reading the favorable review of the Plaster Network products in the New York Times, I ordered the PLN3 and AV200 adapters.

I plugged them in with the supplied Cat 5 cables, and they worked immediately without any fuss or configuration. The speed of the connection to my home router improved dramatically. Youtube videos no longer stall or stutter. Downloads are 4 to 5 times faster.
I'm going to order another two adapters for my wife and son.

I own and have tried several different brands and this one by far is the best I have used. I have a Belkin, Monster, and the Panasonic models. The Panny is pretty good as well, but will not be as fast and is much more finicky about the power socket. I have mine plugged into an outlet behind my Home A/V center which also is where my AT&T U-Verse is located. My office is on the 2nd floor at the other end of the house. My wireless will show a full signal strength but the actual speeds and such are not as stable. I have done some extensive tests with the Plaster and it is very stable. I can test it and get the exact same readings every time, everyday, etc. My download speed via wireless would top out t 15Mbps and would fluctuate big time. The Plaster hits 18.6 Mbps every time. The Latency is much better as well among just about every other figure.
This is a product that you simply cannot go wrong with. I purchased mine from them online which was very secure, simple and fast.
Remember they redesigned them so they are not as big as the above description describes.

You can pretty much plug them into the wall and start using the product immediately. Plug in one near your modem/router and one at your computer(s) and that's it. Like magic really. ;) I was having some slow connection issues and after some testing, it appeared to be the wireless connection from our router to the computer (which was somewhat far away and through a couple walls). So when I tried connecting through the PLN3's, the speed from speedtest.net went from a 2 Mbps to 12 Mbps! Quite impressed.
