Samsung SGH-T249 - black price and reviews

I have a blackberry for work. I use a computer all day at work. I have a desktop and laptop at home. And, my car has a great integrated phone/radio bluetooth conections. The result is that I just don't need a "smart" phone and an expensive data plan. I needed a phone, and this is a great phone.

The phone as such is ok, but due to BAD build quality the whole thing fall apart. This cannot take any drops. If the cheap back cover come off, it takes a good time to fix it back. The sliding mechanism sucks, as there is no grip to open it. The switches on the phone are bad, keep getting activated even if you keep it in pants pocket. Slider keeps moving even inside the pocket. I wish samsung might have come up with a flip phone with same software. Now I realize that how bad this phone is, as the old version T239 is being sold at higher price than T249 at many stores. Please do not buy this phone, I am going to return it as well. The bad thing now, is every carrier is going towards touch screen, and makes you go with 2-yr contract along with data, just to squeeze all your money. No company is offering a good reliable handset that you can purchase out of contract. Either they offer real dumb phone like nokia 1661, or a full fledge touch screen with always internet. There really not much phones that you can find with reliability, good battery, and some features like PC sync.
