Uniden TRU8866 price and reviews

Highly recommended. I have owned both Siemens(2.4GHz) and Panasonic(5.8GHz) multi-handset systems. This Uniden has the best features of each. It has great clarity, is wireless network friendly 5.8GHz, and adds a nice voicemail alert feature. Handset is much more compact and comfortable than Panasonic. I do not believe there is anything else on the market which can compete, especially if you want up to 10 handsets and 2 lines.

We had a Siemens 2-line cordless system for the last 7 years and the phones did not hold up well. The buttons stopped working and coverage was spotty.

Since we have voicemail we did not need an answering machine which almost every other system seamed to have.

The Uniden system is great! Coverage is wonderful, we have 4 additional phones right now. You can change ring tones. It actually lights up when you have a voicemail.

Worst phone system that I have ever owned. The handsets cannot be used anywhere near a computer. I have 4 handsets and 1 base unit. In total, I get fair reception from 1 of the handsets....3 are horrible. Up until now, I have had no wireless network in my house. The reception has been horrible both with and without wireless networking.

I had GE, Panasonic AT&T, etc. phones. Most corded. The problem with them all is that when I switched to VOIP, I had problems with them all. On speakerphone, conversation skipped many syllables. Really choppy. Stutter tone for voice mail didnt work. No one could hear me on headset either. Was going to cancel VOIP when I tried this phone and it is performing flawlessly. People can hear me clearly on speakerphones and I mumble and speak softly. Do not disturb feature is nice. No complaints.

Almost everything is perfect about this phone except for a few things. I really wish that they could have a 2-line bluetooth phone so that I could use my wireless headset. Another thing that bugged me was the fact that I was paying $150 for a phone that doesn't have a color LCD, would have been a nice feature.

The only thing though that actually is wrong with this unit is the Sound Quality. It is good enough, but I wish that Uniden made it great. Kind of sounds a little tinny although it sounds perfect to the person on the other end. Don't let these things stop you from buying this great phone though. The Sound Quality is probably good enough for most.
